Russia has "announced" a chemical attack on the Sumy region.
The Russian Defense Ministry claims that the Ukrainian side wants to stage an attack from Russia using poisonous substances.
"According to the plan of the Kiev regime, this provocation will allow for the launch of a new media campaign in the Western media to discredit Russia, including an attempt to initiate a meeting of the UN Security Council with corresponding accusations against the Russian side," the statement said.
The statement may suggest that Russia is preparing to carry out a chemical attack.
