Jens Stoltenberg calls on Kosovo to reduce tensions with Serbia

Due to the unrest between the Kosovo Special Police and Serbs in Zveçan, Zubin Potok and Leposavic, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called on Kosovo to reduce tensions with Serbia.

This is reported by Reuters.

It is noted that Jens Stoltenberg discussed the situation between Kosovo and Serbia with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell and said that both countries should engage in an EU-led dialogue.

"Pristina (Kosovo) must reduce the escalation and not take unilateral destabilizing steps," the NATO Secretary General said.

On May 26, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic ordered the army to move to the border with Kosovo, as dozens of Kosovo Serbs tried to prevent the new Albanian mayors who had been sworn in from taking office. They boycotted the elections and consider them illegitimate.

The protesters built barricades, and then the Kosovo police began to disperse the Serb protesters with tear gas.
