Details: Mozhin stated that the IMF mission's work in Russia has been postponed due to "technical unpreparedness", but Russia is ready to accept it.

Background:

  • On 13 September, a number of European Union countries were concerned about IMF Head Kristalina Georgieva’s plan to engage with Russia for the first time since its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
  • During a meeting of EU ambassadors on Wednesday, France, Belgium, Poland and several Baltic and Nordic nations expressed surprise at the IMF's recent decision to resume annual economic reviews with Moscow.
