Italy announces delivery of SAMP/T air defence system to Ukraine by end of September
Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto has announced that Ukraine will receive a promised SAMP/T air defence system by the end of September.

Details: At a European conference on air defence production, Crosetto announced that the new SAMP/T air defence system would be delivered to Ukraine by the end of the month.
"We know how much every minute of delay costs," he stressed.
In June, an official report said that Ukraine would receive the SAMP/T air defence system. Last week, the foreign ministers of Ukraine and Italy discussed a new Italian military aid package.
Ukraine received the first SAMP/T system, also known as MAMBA, in 2023. This weapon developed jointly by France and Italy can track dozens of targets and intercept up to 10 targets simultaneously. It is also the only European-made system capable of intercepting ballistic missiles.
