220 people still in Poltava hospitals after Russian strike on Institute of Communication – Zelenskyy

As many as 220 people remain in hospitals in the city of Poltava, some of them in a critical condition, following the Russian strike on the Institute of Communication on 3 September.

Quote: "The beginning of this September, unfortunately, was marked by brutal Russian strikes. Just after the strike on the Poltava Institute of Communications, 220 wounded are still receiving inpatient treatment. Among them are people with severe and very severe injuries."

Background: 

  • On 3 September, the Russians attacked an educational institution in the city of Poltava.
  • The Ground Forces of Ukraine are investigating the attack.
  • President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Russian missiles that hit the military educational facility in Poltava on 3 September flew for three minutes and that many people were killed or injured on their way to shelter.
  • As of 8 September 58 people are known to have been killed and 328 people injured.
