45,000 people need to be evacuated from Sumy Oblast – Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs
Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said that a total of 45,000 people are to be evacuated from Ukraine's Sumy Oblast.

Quote: "Currently, we need to evacuate people in Sumy Oblast, this is what the Defence Council decided – that's about 45,000. I mean, [it has to be done] later, this is not an urgent evacuation. So far, we have evacuated about 21,000 people, including 5,000 children, specifically from Sumy. And in Sumy, in order to make this evacuation systematic, we have selected the best volunteers from the National Police and the State Emergency Service."
Details: Klymenko says that people who do not want to leave will be persuaded to change their mind, but all children must be evacuated from the area. "Most people go to their families and friends, but some do not have this option. Therefore, they are taken to neighbouring Poltava and Kyiv oblasts."
