russia has once again blocked the grain corridor
The Russian Federation has rejected registration and inspections of ships traveling through the "grain corridor" to Ukrainian seaports.
This information was published by the press service of the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine on its Facebook page.
"The Russian Federation has once again stopped the 'grain initiative' by refusing to register vessels and conduct inspections. This approach is contrary to the terms of the current agreement," the statement reads.
The Ministry emphasizes that Russia's destructive policy complicates the formation of an inspection plan in accordance with the procedures of the joint coordination center. These procedures provide for the daily coordination of entry and exit inspection plans by all parties.
As of May 8, 2023, 90 vessels are awaiting inspection in Turkish territorial waters, of which 62 are vessels bound for loading. Inspections of the incoming and outgoing fleet have been suspended.
"Ukraine strongly rejects Russia's attempts to suspend the registration and inspection of the incoming fleet, which should be carried out in accordance with the current initiative. We are waiting for the position of our partners, the UN and Turkey," the Ministry emphasizes.
