There are no disputed territories between Ukraine and Russia, only temporarily occupied ones - Foreign Ministry on Indonesia's "peace plan "

Indonesian Defense Minister Prawobo Subianto has put forward a proposal for a ceasefire in Ukraine and the creation of a demilitarized zone under UN control.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has justified why the Indonesian plan for a peaceful settlement has no chance of success.

Thus, Prawobo Subianto insists on the withdrawal of troops of both sides to a distance of 15 km. In addition, the defense minister believes that it would be advisable to hold a referendum under the auspices of the UN in the so-called "disputed territories" to clearly determine the mood of their residents.

The spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Oleg Nikolenko, said in response that there are no disputed territories between Ukraine and the Russian Federation where referendums could be held. There are the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions, as well as the occupied Crimea. However, these lands are part of sovereign Ukraine. This fact is documented in official UN documents.

In the occupied territories, the Russian military is committing war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide against Ukrainians. It is Russia that must leave Ukrainian lands, and Ukraine that must restore its territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders.

The ceasefire, withdrawal of troops to a distance of 15 km and the creation of a demilitarized zone will not be effective. Russia is now making attempts to disrupt the Ukrainian counteroffensive. A ceasefire without the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine will give Russia time to regroup, fortify itself in the occupied territories and accumulate forces for a new war," noted Oleh Nikolenko.

Therefore, the Foreign Ministry emphasizes that there can be no alternative scenarios for ending the war - only on Ukraine's terms.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman called on Indonesia to join the Peace Formula proposed by President Zelensky, because stable peace in Ukraine means the complete liberation of Ukrainian territories from Russian occupation.
