Zelenskyy names "few goals" achieved by Kursk Oblast operation

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Kursk operation is a key component of Ukraine's victory strategy and is linked to the second Peace Summit. He said he only knew a few people about the operation.

I can definitely identify some goals. And there are definitely goals I cannot reveal. The Kursk operation resulted in several outcomes. First and foremost, the occupation of Kharkiv Oblast is halted. We had information about the creation of a buffer zone in Kharkiv Oblast, and then in the north, we didn't know the specifics, but we assumed that Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts were in the Russian Federation's plans. What we got from our intelligence and intelligence partners...

The Kursk operation resolved the issue of [preventing] the occupation of Sumy or Chernihiv. Furthermore, it struck a large number of troops, collapsing a serious combat group."

According to Zelenskyy, the Kursk operation is part of Ukraine's victory plan and is related to the second Peace Summit, which Ukraine intends to hold with Russian Federation representatives.

According to the President, after the Kursk operation began, the Russians moved their forces from Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia oblasts. At the same time, the Russians are concentrating and not withdrawing troops from Donetsk Oblast.

The second direction concerns Ukraine's strategic position in the global security infrastructure. The third strategy is to use diplomatic means to coerce Russia into ending the war. The fourth direction is economic."

According to Zelenskyy, in September he will present it to US President Joe Biden and presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump (US elections are scheduled for November).
