SARISA SRS-1X drone with Hydra missiles can replace attack helicopter
Specialists of the Greek company SAS Technology managed to launch an unguided 70-mm Hydra missile from a SARISA SRS-1X drone. They hope that this drone will become an alternative to expensive attack helicopters.
Details:
According to Greek Reporter, the tests took place on April 25. The SARISA SRS-1X successfully launched a Hydra 70 missile manufactured by Thales Belgium. The video published by the Greek company shows a quadcopter with a launcher that looks like a tube flying over the coast. It launched the missile toward the sea.
SAS Technology noted that this was the first time a 70-mm unguided missile was launched from such a small drone. Flight tests have shown that the SARISA SRS-1X is suitable for use as a fire support vehicle. The drone could become a cheaper alternative to expensive helicopters.
