Quote: "Today is truly a special day, as one piece of news is capturing global attention. The compelling result of the election in the United States. President Trump's clear leadership. I congratulate him on this victory."

Details: Zelenskyy says it was "extremely important" for him to hear Trump's "peace through strength" words, which he used during his previous presidency from 2016 to 2020.

The Ukrainian president believes that "the US and the whole world will definitely benefit from this policy".

Quote: "It is no coincidence that Ronald Reagan is now so often mentioned [as he also frequently repeated the phrase 'peace through strength'] – people want confidence, they want freedom, they want a normal life."

Details: Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine needs a "strong America" and "strong allies" in general.

The president added that after his meeting with Trump in the United States, their teams engaged with each other. Back then, they discussed defence, the economy and "the future after the war".

Quote: "We have the potential for stronger cooperation. This is what will make Ukraine, America, and the entire free world more successful."
