Quote: "The decoration, called For the Assault, will be awarded exclusively to service members who have participated in combat missions as part of assault groups in close-quarter battles to capture enemy targets on two or more occasions, demonstrating personal courage, determination, and professionalism."
Details: The award is a distinction from the Commander of the Air Assault Forces, and the inscription "For the Assault" emphasises that it is awarded for personal participation in assault operations.
Quote: "The award is oval-shaped, with its perimeter encircling a classic laurel wreath, one leaf wide, symbolising victory and honour. At the centre of the distinction is a trench knife, piercing the enemy's defensive line, symbolising that assault operations take place in clashes with the enemy, in close combat, trenches, and similar settings."
