Russia stalemate in Bakhmut - WSJ
Russia has reached a deadlock in Bakhmut and will soon lose it.
The Wall Street Journal writes about it.
According to the newspaper, while Russia was fighting for control of the last neighborhoods of Bakhmut, Ukrainian forces broke through into Russian territory, creating serious problems for Moscow. Now the invaders need to move troops from the front to their border to secure it.
"Our goal is to tactically encircle Bakhmut," said a platoon commander of the 3rd Assault Brigade of Ukraine, which is leading a counterattack south of the city.
The publication states that the ten-month assault on Bakhmut has led to the total exhaustion of the occupiers and deprived them of any chance to advance. The WSJ notes that "Russia is at a dead end" and will soon lose the city it took by meaty assaults.
