Details: The sources revealed that the Ukrainian delegation will include Defence Minister Rustem Umierov and Deputy Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, together with Yermak.
Quote: "...the primary goal of this visit is a meeting with Trumpists, people from the entourage of the newly elected US President Donald Trump."
Another source mentioned that talks are planned between Yermak and Keith Kellogg, a retired general nominated by Trump for the position of Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia.
Radio NV claims that Yermak’s visit to the US had been planned immediately after the presidential election, but "he was unable to arrange meetings with Trump’s circle at that time".
Background:
- President Volodymyr Zelenskyy earlier stated that Ukraine must work directly with US President-elect Donald Trump, as "there are different voices" within Trump’s circle.
- Zelenskyy also expressed hope that Donald Trump would present proposals for ending the war in Ukraine shortly after the start of his term.
