Before resigning, British Air Force chief predicts Russia's actions after defeat

A defeat in the war against Ukraine would make Russia "vengeful" and "brutal" and pose a threat to NATO countries.

This was stated in an interview with The Telegraph by the outgoing head of the British Air Force, Mike Wigston.

According to Air Chief Marshal Wigston, the Russian air force, navy and submarine forces pose a threat to Britain and NATO.

He warned that this threat could even increase if Russian President Vladimir Putin is removed from power.

- "When the conflict in Ukraine is over and Ukraine restores its borders, as it should be, we will have a damaged, vengeful and brutal Russia that will be damaging us through air, missile and submarine attacks," he said.

Mike Wigston is due to retire next month after four years as head of the British Air Force.

- But it also shows that it's not just about one man. There is a whole structure and hierarchy behind Putin. So even if Putin leaves the scene, there are many other people who can take his place who will be just as cruel and malicious towards their own people and towards neighboring states," he said.
