Hungarian Foreign Minister goes to China to "talk about Ukraine"

"Europe is gripped by a war mania," - these are the words of Peter Szijjarto. After an official visit to Moscow, the Hungarian foreign minister is now considering a visit to China. The war in Ukraine will be one of the key topics of discussion during this visit, according to reports from Report.

"The war is raging in our neighborhood, Europe is in military shock, so the importance of peacekeeping measures cannot be overestimated and must be constantly emphasized," - Szijjarto said.

The minister emphasized that Hungary recognizes the Chinese peace plan for two reasons: it really exists and it aims to achieve peace.

As a reminder, the American Ambassador to Hungary, David Pressman, at a press conference organized on the day of the announcement of new US sanctions against Russia over the invasion of Ukraine, expressed concern about the growing closeness between the Hungarian government and Russia.

Péter Szijjártó, Hungary's foreign minister, in turn, responded that statements by U.S. Ambassador David Pressman about the Hungarian government's cynicism about calls for a ceasefire in Ukraine "fuel military propaganda."
