US State Department comments on Russia's allegations of Ukraine's involvement in anti-Jewish pogroms in Makhachkala

The US State Department has rejected Russia's allegations of Ukraine's alleged involvement in anti-Jewish pogroms at the airport in Makhachkala, Dagestan.

"It is absurd to accuse Ukraine, – said spokesman Matthew Miller.

This was stated in a statement by a spokesman for the US State Department on October 30 during a briefing, reports the correspondent of "European Truth".

In particular, Kremlin leader Putin and Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova made a statement about the events in Dagestan. Zakharova considers them to be the result of a "planned and executed provocation" from the outside. And the key role, according to her, in the anti-Jewish pogroms in Makhachkala was played by the "Kyiv regime".

Putin said during a meeting on the situation in Dagestan that Ukraine and "agents of Western special services" influenced it.

"I saw their statements accusing Ukraine. This is absurd, of course, ", – the State Department spokesman commented on the Russian individuals.

He added that Russia should bring to justice those responsible for anti-Jewish riots in Dagestan the day before.

As a reminder, on October 26, a delegation of the Palestinian group Hamas, whose terrorists attacked Israel from the Gaza Strip the day before, visited the capital of the Russian Federation.

Ukraine, Israel and the world reacted to the events in Makhachkala. Vladimir Zelensky said that this case is not an isolated one in Russia. This is a "culture of hatred for other peoples". And in Israel, they said that they  "take seriously" the mass riots in Dagestan.
