Police received a report about a man carrying a grenade on one of the streets in Okhtyrka. Patrol officers, a community police officer and a guard service officer were dispatched to the scene.
"During negotiations with law enforcement, the man activated the grenade. The blast injured the man himself, three police officers and one civilian. All those injured have been hospitalised," police said.
An investigative team is working at the scene.
