Britain to provide Ukraine with 16 million pounds to strengthen cyber defense

Britain will allocate 16 million pounds ($20.48 million) to Ukraine to strengthen cyber defense.

This was announced by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Sky News reports.

"This decision was made as Ukraine launched another counteroffensive against Russia, in addition to the 6.35 million pounds ($8.1 million) promised last year. Another 9 million pounds ($11.51 million) could potentially come from international allies," the newspaper writes.

It is noted that the aid package will help Ukraine protect critical national infrastructure from Russian attacks as Ukrainian soldiers continue to push the enemy out of the temporarily occupied territories.

"Russia's horrific attacks on Ukraine are not limited to a barbaric invasion of the country's territory, but also include despicable attempts to attack cyber infrastructure that provides vital services, from banking to energy, to the innocent Ukrainian population, " Sunak said.
