"Peace initiatives" demanding Ukraine to give up territories have disappeared from the information field, - Kuleba

Over the past six months, numerous "peaceful" initiatives from other countries, which assumed that Ukraine would give up part of its territories to Russia, have disappeared from the information field. Instead, the world is leaning toward the peace formula proposed by Ukraine.

This was reported by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

Commenting on the current forum in Malta, Kuleba noted that 66 states, including the countries of the "global south", currently support the Ukrainian peace formula.

"Please note: over the same six months, numerous «peaceful» initiatives that offered Ukraine to give up territories, exchange something, or some other unacceptable things have disappeared from the information field," Kuleba said.

He noted that currently the center of all discussions is the "fair and honest Ukrainian formula", which fully complies with the principles of the UN Charter and key resolutions of the General Assembly.

Peace Summit in Malta

The third meeting on the Ukrainian peace formula started in Malta on October 28. The main goal for Ukraine, according to the head of the Presidential Administration Andriy Yermak, is to secure the widest possible international support for President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's peace plan.

The previous two meetings were held in Copenhagen and Jeddah. Back then, Ukraine managed to attract not only direct partners and allies, but also representatives of the Global South, who take a neutral position on the war.

Note that this time China is not participating in the peace summit. According to media reports, Beijing's absence disappointed the Ukrainian leadership.

"Peace Initiatives for Ukraine

It is worth noting that a number of countries have previously announced that they want to mediate between Ukraine and Russia and presented their so-called "peace plans".

Thus, one of the first "plans" was developed by China, although Ukraine and its partners criticized it.

In addition, Brazil, Indonesia and African countries presented  "peace initiatives". However, most of these plans envisage territorial concessions to Ukraine and the freezing of the conflict. Ukraine's leadership has repeatedly emphasized that our country will not make any concessions, and that Russia must withdraw its troops to end the war.
