On June 1, Poland closes its border to Russian and Belarusian trucks.
This decision was made by Mariusz Kaminski, Polish Minister of the Interior and Administration, on Monday, May 29, according to PAP.
Thus, from the beginning of June, Poland will block access across the Belarusian border for trucks, tractors, trailers and semi-trailers registered in Russia and Belarus.
The ban came immediately after sanctions were imposed on 365 Belarusian officials in response to the imprisonment of Andrzej Poczobut, an activist of the Polish minority in Belarus and co-chairman of the Union of Poles in Belarus.
The situation in relations between Poland and Russia
Poland was one of the first countries to raise its voice against the war waged by Russia against Ukraine and to impose sanctions on Russia. Recently, it has been revealed that Poland is setting up a commission to investigate Russia's influence on the country's internal security in the period from 2007 to 2022. The commission will consist of 9 members, whose appointment and dismissal will be the responsibility of the Sejm.
