Ukraine to receive $5 billion in aid from France, Germany, and the UK
Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, announced that the country will receive over $5 billion in aid from the G7 countries. The aid will come from France, Germany, and the UK after negotiations that took place during the Spring Meetings in Washington.
Financial support from a range of countries
Shmyhal also noted that Switzerland intends to provide Ukraine with assistance in the amount of 1.8 billion francs (about $2 billion) over the next six years. In addition, Denmark will create a special fund of €1 billion to provide aid to Ukraine.
"Spain, Ireland, Japan, Lithuania, Latvia, Iceland, and the Netherlands will provide additional support to Ukraine. All of this will help us to overcome and ensure the stability of our economy," said the Prime Minister.
World Bank to provide Ukraine with a $200 million grant
During his visit to the United States, Denys Shmyhal signed an agreement with the World Bank, according to which Ukraine will receive a grant of $200 million. These funds are planned to be used to restore the country's energy infrastructure.
