Quote: "Concrete pyramids in residential areas are, sadly, the Pokrovsk of today. The enemy steadily destroys the city, like it did with Bakhmut and Avdiivka. As promised, emergency workers, police, social workers, and public utilities are still on the ground until the last moment. However, it is clear that there will be no heating season in the city."
Details: The city is currently home to 12,000 inhabitants, including several dozen children. 40% of Pokrovsk has been left without electricity.
Serhii Dobriak, the head of the Pokrovsk City Military Administration, calls on the residents not to hesitate and evacuate. According to him, invincibility centres will continue providing heat to the people, but the scenario will change if the line of contact comes closer and the bombardment increases. [Invincibility centres are heated premises stocked with food and power banks to assist residents facing hardships due to power cuts – ed.].
In early October, the Estonian Defence Forces Intelligence Centre predicted that Ukrainian forces may be forced to withdraw from Pokrovsk, Donetsk Oblast, by the end of the year.
