The network reports about the explosion of a Russian ship near Crimea: what the Armed Forces say

Russian patrol ship "Pavel Derzhavin"

In the temporarily occupied Sevastopol, on October 12, 2023, the Russian patrol ship "Pavel Derzhavin" of the project 22160 of the "Vasily Bykov" type exploded.

According to preliminary information, the ship could have hit a mine. Several subscribers from Sevastopol reported hearing a dull explosion around 10 a.m. Later, representatives of the Telegram channel "Crimean Wind" discovered a ship and a boat in the sea near Sevastopol in the afternoon. Judging by the size of the ship - about 60 meters - it could only be a minesweeper.

"According to preliminary information, the ship "Pavel Derzhavin" exploded on a mine, " he wrote on Telegram.

Press officer of the Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine Natalia Gumenyuk said that the Armed Forces are clarifying the circumstances of the explosion.

"Given the kind of slackerism that representatives of the Russian Black Sea Fleet allow themselves... they will hold a meeting in the wrong place, or go to the wrong place in the sea. Anything is possible. We are clarifying the circumstances," she said.

If the information about the explosion of the "Pavel Derzhavin" ship on a mine is confirmed, this will be the second time in the last few months that a Russian warship has been damaged or destroyed in the Black Sea.

In September 2023, the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Simferopol struck the Ordzhonikidze repair plant and damaged the landing ship "Minsk" and the submarine "Rostov-on-Don". According to media reports, the strike was carried out by Storm Shadow missiles.

The news about the explosion of the "Pavel Derzhavin" ship is another blow to the Russian Black Sea Fleet and demonstrates that the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to strike at Russian military facilities in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
