Council of Europe Summit supports intentions to bring Russian leadership to justice

The heads of the Council of Europe approve of the global costs aimed at holding Russia's political and military leadership accountable for its actions against Ukraine.

"We welcome the global efforts to bring to justice the political and military leadership of the Russian Federation for its hostile actions against Ukraine, as well as the positive developments in the organization of the Special Tribunal for the Prosecution of Acts of Aggression, as highlighted at the Summit of the Special Tribunal's Lead Group under the leadership of President Zelenskyy," the resolution declares.

The leaders noted that the Council of Europe should take an active part in relevant consultations and discussions and provide significant expert and technological support to this process.

It is known that the fourth summit of the Council of Europe adopted a final resolution declaring political support for the Ukrainian interpretation of the "peace formula".

The document, which was confirmed by the presidents and heads of government of the Council of Europe member states, proclaims "absolute support for Ukraine and its citizens" and states that the world "will stand with Ukraine for as long as necessary."

The "peace formula" initiative supported in this resolution is based on the principle of a peaceful settlement of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

The resolution adopted at the summit is a significant step in protecting Ukraine's rights and interests at the international level, as well as recognizing its right to defend itself against aggression.
