Hungarian Foreign Minister to speak at Russia's SPIEF

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto will attend an event at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), which is the largest of its kind in Russia but has been ignored by Western leaders since Russia's aggression against Ukraine in 2014.

This is stated in the program SPIEF.

Siyarto's speech is scheduled for the panel "Energy of the XXI century: challenges of the present – opportunities of the future". Along with Siyarto, Russian energy officials and former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl, known for the fact that Putin danced at her wedding, will speak there.

In turn, Hungarian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mate Pacholai said that Szijjarto will indeed speak at the Russian forum, where he will present the position that "the war and senseless killing of people must be stopped immediately and peace talks must begin.&/p>

This year, even the leaders of countries considered loyal to the Kremlin will not speak at the forum. For example, Brazilian President Lula da Silva, Serbian leader Milorad Dodik and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev refused to participate.

Almost all Western leaders and businessmen have been ignoring the SPIEF since the beginning of Russian aggression against Ukraine. Last year, the forum was ignored by Western leaders, while representatives of the Taliban, which is considered a terrorist organization in Russia, as well as leaders of the DPR and LPR were present;
