The Russian army seized more territory last week than at any other point in 2024 in the same timeframe.

Quote: "The gain of more than 200 square kilometres adds to territory taken in a grinding summer offensive that’s involved huge losses of Russian troops and equipment.
Russia has captured 1,146 square kilometres in Ukraine since 6 August, about a quarter more than in the first seven months of the year, according to Bloomberg Intelligence calculations based on changes recorded by the DeepState map service that’s maintained in cooperation with the Ukrainian Defence Ministry."
Details: Bloomberg also points out that Russian forces captured the town of Selydove this week, with the towns of Pokrovsk and Kurakhove among their next targets.
Both cities are important logistical centres for Ukraine's defence in Donetsk Oblast. If these towns fall into Putin's hands, it will be another landmark on his path to capturing the entire industrial east of Ukraine.
Background: On 30 October, DeepState analysts updated their map, noting that Russian troops had captured three more settlements in Donetsk Oblast, including Selydove, Vyshneve, and Zoriane.
