NATO to adopt long-term aid package for Ukraine in Vilnius - Stoltenberg

At the July NATO summit in Vilnius, the bloc member states will adopt a long-term aid package for Ukraine.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in a commentary to Welt.

According to him, the package is designed to bring Ukraine to NATO standards within a few years. In addition, the Alliance intends to intensify political ties.

– Ukraine's future is in NATO, but now the priority for Ukraine is to establish itself as a sovereign and independent state – otherwise there is no point in discussing membership, he said.

Stoltenberg noted that after the war, there should be “reliable mechanisms for Ukraine's security so that Russia cannot rearm and attack again"
