Forests are burning in Russia. Villagers are urged to evacuate

Forest fires continue in Russia over an area of more than 56,000 hectares. There are 120 known fires in the Tyumen, Kurgan and Sverdlovsk regions.

This is reported by the Russian media with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

"The most difficult situation remains in the Sverdlovsk region, where more than 33 thousand hectares of forest are burning," the Emergencies Ministry said.

Aviation is being used to extinguish the fires.

In the Sverdlovsk region, warehouses with gunpowder caught fire. Over a thousand people were evacuated due to the threat of an explosion. Most people were evacuated from the village of Pervomaisky - 400 people, including 120 children. The situation is also difficult in Asbestos. 383 people were evacuated from there, including 57 children.

At the same time, the situation with forest fires is critical in the Kurgan region. It is not possible to evacuate all the people there, so local residents were urged to evacuate on their own. The situation is complicated by gusty strong winds and abnormally hot weather.
