Saudi army on high alert: reason given
The Saudi armed forces have been put on high alert after clashes with the Yemeni paramilitary group Ansar Allah (Houthis).

Four Saudi soldiers were killed in action in the mountainous province of Jazan on the border with Yemen. The death of the soldiers was the first case of a military clash since a preliminary truce with the Houthis was reached in April last year. Prior to this escalation, both sides were on the verge of a peace deal.
The clashes on the Yemeni-Saudi border followed the Houthis' launch of cruise missiles and drones at Israel on October 19, which the Pentagon said were intercepted by a U.S. destroyer in the Red Sea. According to the newspaper's sources, one of these missiles was also intercepted by Saudi air defense systems and fell on the territory of the country. The United States and Saudi Arabia have not previously claimed Saudi involvement in preventing the attack.
Hamas Invasion of Israel
On October 7, militants of the "Hamas" group invaded Israel. During the large-scale attack, they shot and kidnapped civilians, and the terrorists published videos of their atrocities on social media.
After that, Israel launched a military operation against Hamas called "Iron Swords". The IDF managed to drive the militants out of the country. The next stage could be a ground operation in the Gaza Strip.
Amid the clashes, Saudi officials strongly warned the United States that an Israeli ground operation in the Gaza Strip could be a disaster for the Middle East.
